We can all agree that pets are extended members of our family. We have two dogs and a cat that spend time outside. Sometimes curiosity gets the better of them and they decide to take a stroll around the block. It's heart wrenching when we lose track of our fur babies, but thanks to technology and GPS location services, it's a lot easier to keep track of your pets if they decide to explore the neighborhood and beyond. Here are some of the best choices to keep up with your pets.
1. Pod 2 + GPS. The Pod 2 is a great GPS tracker that uses cellular technology that allows you to track the location of your pet as well as their activities for up to 8 hours. The Pod2 weighs only 1 ounce and you can access the tracking utility from the smartphone app or a web browser from any computer.
2. Pawscount Smart Tag. This device is an inexpensive, lightweight and waterproof tracker that can keep tabs on your pet up to 200 feet. The free that works with this device will work on iOS devices and Android devices. You can also put your pet’s name and your contact information on the device as well.
3. Tile Mate. Tile has been on the market for a couple of years. Originally designed for keeping track of lost keys, wallets and purses, people are using this device to keep track of other things such as pets. Tiles are lightweight and waterproof and can last up to a year before needing service.
4. Nuzzle Pet Activity Tracker. Like the Pod 2, the Nuzzle uses GPS and Cellular connectivity which makes it really accurate via the smartphone app. This device also has an activity tracker, the ability to use geofencing and is waterproof with an LED light.
